Time To Fall Back

Ketchikan: Time To Fall Back - On October 26th - the last Sunday of October - daylight saving time reverts to standard time at 2 am for most Americans. Clocks should be turned back an hour.

That means most of the country will get an extra hour of sleep as people move their clocks back an hour Saturday night.

Remember - it's Spring forward, Fall back!...

National: Americans Ages 45-Plus Score a 'C' Grade on Consumer Issues - Americans 45-plus were judged average, with potential for improvement, when it comes to consumer issues based on findings from AARP's new 2003 Consumer Experiences Survey that examined individuals' experiences with financial products and services. The survey looked at credit behavior, fraud and financial planning. These consumers are attempting to protect their financial security, however, their lack of basic financial knowledge can make their planning more difficult. - Read more...

Alaska: USCG Cutter Healy's makes first port call since mid-July - The Coast Guard cutter Healy and crew has a scheduled stop in Juneau for a port call from October 24-27. 
 
The ship won't host any public tours. The ship departed Seattle June13th to begin its Arctic cruise.  The Healy crew circumnavigated the North American continent on its cruise.  The crew and scientists on board conducted numerous science operations. - Read more...

Alaska: Finding a Prehistoric Munitions Factory by Ned Rozell - Alaska's prehistoric people appreciated a good piece of rock. When they found a workable stone, they made an arrowhead, a knife, or a scraper to remove meat from an animal hide. Using tiny fragments of obsidian rock and some high-tech equipment, Alaska scientists recently teamed up to locate a prehistoric munitions factory, a spot where Native people went to find obsidian to make their tools and weapons. - Read more...
