RE: Dog Park

Mr. Reed, I completely agree with you! I have two dogs of my own, and have thoroughly enjoyed using the local dog parks in WA and OR while completing graduate school. One of my concerns regarding a move back to town is the lack of open, safe space for my dogs to run and play.

I have frequented a variety of dog parks, and it seems that the basic elements are simple and could easily be implemented in Ketchikan: a decent amount of space, a fence, double-door entry, and responsible dog owners who clean up after their pets and adhere to common courtesy regarding use of the park. I've been thinking about trying to get a park going in Ketchikan, and am happy to hear that others feel the same way and may have already started the process. If there is a committee already in place, please let us know how to support you! If not, lets form one and see if we can make this happen!
