RE:Fund raising a full time job

The non-profits which help our town have my support and sympathy in these hard times, and I am writing only to point out how lucky we are to have various non-profits AND The Daily News.

One would be hard pressed to find a city with our economic woes, shrinking population and therefore shrinking subscription base with a daily newspaper. Ketchikan is fortunate to have the Daily News, not the Weekly News, and we have it because the folks that run it are civic minded and they love the job. It's Ok if we do not always agree with the editorial page but it would be just awful not to have local, state and national opinions about which we can discuss.
