Snowmachine people

Mr. Moen's letter really was quite mean. As Mr. Ferry stated, we are a large group of people in this community - snowmachine people, that is.

I would like to change one comment Mr. Ferry made. This year we had to change our dues to $100.00 to maintain our cost to keep our cabin that is open to all. -- which I remember a few skier families last year enjoying. Some of us put in so many hours of work in the summer. This is what we enjoy.

When we first moved here in 68' there were motorcycle races at Whipple Creek. a go cart track up the hill from Rose's Caboose. Not every one had to stay inside and read books. We could even drive cars by the time we got our learner's license.

Some dumb kids can do some dumb things because they do not know better. There are so many four-wheelers in the back of trucks. Form a club. Maybe you could get some land dedicated. I am sure you could get chips from Ward Cove and clean up trails that you have rutted up. The snow mobile club could have what the paint ballers have. When people form clubs it a sure fire sign people care.

In a few more weeks we'll notice the snow machines start to pop out in some really good people's rigs.

Mr. Ferry, thanks for letting the cat out of our box. Going up Mahoney is only for good riders. The rest should really stay away. I remember the first time I went up the shoot and dropped back down on the south end of the lake where one of Tom's pictures was taken. Members in our club have had very good rides all over, we go to Hyder, Smithers, Revelstocke, Yellowstone. I was in the Sierras and Shasta, Mt. Baker -- and I'm ready to do it again.
