Treatment of guests is reprehensible
By John Stewart

Editor, SitNews,

First, I would like to thank Marie Monyak, SitNews, Scott Bowlen and the newspaper for the un-varnished account of the Chamber of Commerce luncheon on 1-18-06.

The performance of one member of the Chamber could well be compared to that of an un-muzzled rabid dog.

The two invited guest speakers were there to share information and concerns of importance to the community as a whole. For any one who speaks and understands the English language it is clear that Ms. McCreary and Mr. Rubin are pro-development, but they are also smart enough to hear the alarms sounded in negative feedback from industry reporters. It is an important tool for measuring the pulse of a fragile economic base.

Such abusive treatment is reprehensible; were it to be tolerated by a group that is representative of professionals would be more than regrettable. A "screw you" attitude could "screw our town". Further, it is a sad state of affairs that paramount in his concerns, the board president finds it "unfortunate and regrettable" that the incident was published.

United we stand, divided we fall.

Sincerely,

John Stewart
