Traffic Pet Peeve
by Janelle Hamilton

I read the letter by Dayle Amundson which prompts me to share my pet peeve about the traffic in Ketchikan. I have an aunt who lives in the Marine View. When I want to visit her, to be courteous to the drivers behind me, I make a left hand turn on Madison or Washington Street to get to the Marine View. I know I do not like to look up and see a car at the stop light with their left blinker on trying to get up Jefferson Street during the rush hour, go around!

I have lived in Ketchikan for over seven years, I live on the north end of town and work on the south end of town. As I put in the miles getting to work and back each day, I pass a lot of cars over time. What I don't understand is why some drivers ride practically on the yellow line?? Hey folks, move over or you will see me in my red car waving at you to move over. As I have been hit by two cars in the past, believe me, I am riding more close to that white line than the yellow line. Like I said, move over, try to stick to your side of the road!
