STORYHOUR:

Continues regularly throughout the year on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 10:30am. After some playtime, the librarian reads stories, sings songs, does fingerplays and shows a short film beginning around 10:40 am. This program is appropriate for infants through pre-school age children.

CHESS FOR CHILDREN:

Children of all ages are invited to learn and practice the game of chess each Wednesday afternoons from 4-5pm with Parks and Recreation instructor Michelle Charles. This drop in program is free and does not require registration.

BOOKTALK

Listen to news about the library, books, and book reviews each Thursday evening from 6:30-7:00pm on public radio KRBD Ketchikan at 105.9.

DECEMBER 15

Preschool age children can make an ornament and listen to silly stories during Storycraft beginning at 10:30am.

DECEMBER 23

It's time once again for the annual Preschool Christmas Party at 10:30am. Join us for songs, stories, special treats and a visit from Santa.

DECEMBER 24

The library will close at 3:00pm for Christmas

DECEMBER 25

The library is CLOSED for Christmas

DECEMBER 31

The library will close at 3:00pm for New Year's JANUARY 10

The Ketchikan Food Club will meet for ordering from 4:30-5:30pm. This non-profit buying group orders from a natural food grocery supplier in Seattle every other month.

 

 

JANUARY 29, 2006

Celebrate the birthday of Lewis Carroll and all things Wonderland at the annual Mad Hatter Tea Party at 3:00pm. Families and friends are invited for tea, yummy treats, crafts and a gorgeous display of Alice in Wonderland collectibles from the collection of Dr. Snow.

FEBRUARY 2006

Author Pam Houston will do a reading and book signing. Time and date to be announced. Pam is the author of numerous novels and short story collections including the classic "Cowboys are My Weakness," "Waltzing the Cat," "Women on Hunting" and the upcoming "Sight Hound." FEBRUARY 23, 2006

The Covenant Players make their annual visit to the library at 10:30am with a morning of short plays for preschoolers about friendship, faith, conflict resolution and problem solving. This fun, fast paced theater troupe encourages audience involvement and interaction.
