Ketchikan, Alaska - 2004 ended and 2005 began with clear skies
and freezing temperatures in Ketchikan and surrounding areas.
The National Weather Service is forecasting a high of 28º
and a low of 20º on New Year's day. Sunny skies are forecast
into the afternoon with cold temperatures as an Arctic high pressure
continues to linger over the area.
Ice is visible around the edges of Harriet Hunt Lake Friday -
New Year's Eve. Harriet Hunt Road leads to Harriet Hunt Lake
- a popular fishing and skiing area. Harriet Hunt Lake is north
of Ketchikan.
