Served on 5 committees of the Borough, four of which as Chairman or as the Co-Chair
Dudley Field Ad Hoc Committee, Animal Protection Ad Hoc Committee, Cooperative Relations Committee, Local Emergency Planning Committee, Legislative Policy  Review Committee

If elected I would like to continue the work of the Cooperative Relations committee and continue to find common ground with the City of Ketchikan.  Working together and finding solutions to the issues facing our island is a priority.  Assuring our children continue to receive the best education possible and encouraging technical and labor skill building classes so those who are not going to college have an opportunity to seek good paying jobs in Ketchikan.  My previous career was working with those who did not benefit from these opportunities and the cost in loss of productive lives is high. I very much want to work with the school district to reduce the friction when it comes to school funding. I believe we have to establish clear goals and seek alternatives to rising cost that do not automatically point towards tax increases.  My record reflects that I am not a tax and spend candidate and I listen very carefully to those who come before the assembly.  I spend a great deal of time studying the issues and try to make the best decisions based on facts and not emotions.  I very much want to be a part of bringing industries to our community and increase employment where ever possible. Government can create a business friendly environment and we owe that to our community.  Finally I want to say that it has been an honor serving our community and being a part creating solutions.  While we all have opinions as to how things should work,  it is when our community works together that good things happen. Thank you for allowing me to serve.
