Dave Lieben
Hi there! My name is Dave Lieben, and I'm running for the School Board. I'm the owner of First City Computer Services, we do web site design and buy and sell used computers, among other things. I was the publisher of a local news web site called kanoe.com. My lovely wife Katrina is a nurse at the hospital, and we have two wonderful children, Danny is three and Sara is one.

I've been involved with the Trails Coalition as Treasurer, Vice President, Activity Coordinator, Webmaster, and Adopt-a-Trail Coordinator. I've been involved with the Revilla Island Prevention Coalition as Treasurer and Youth Activity Coordinator. I've served on the Forest Service's Resource Advisory Committee. I've been an on-air volunteer, and frequent booth worker, for KRBD. I've organized neighborhood clean-up days. I've worked to try to make Ketchikan a better place to live. My main reason for running for the School Board is to try to help make our schools better for my children, and all children.

My goals, if elected, are to try to get everybody working together to help improve our schools. I will try to promote increased trust of the School Board from the school district's employees by always being honest with them. I will listen to the teachers, administrators, parents, and students, and try to find solutions that everyone can agree on.

I'm not long-winded by nature, plus right now we have two sick children, so I'll wrap up at this point. Feel free to call me at 225-2603, or e-mail me at dlieben@yahoo.com with any questions, comments, or concerns. I have a steep learning curve ahead of me, if elected, so I want to get up to speed on what's been happening in the school district, as well as what you would like to see happen. I would appreciate your support on Election Day.
