DEAR CRABBY:

I am 17 years old and am down in Washington State this summer with my father (my parents are divorced). I recently got a job at a fast food restaurant. So far, I like the work, all but one thing. The manager always looks down at my top whenever he speaks to me. He won't look me in the eye and each time I'm getting more and more uncomfortable with the situation. Besides quitting, I don't know what to do about him. I need the job because there aren't many places here for temporary summer work.

BIG GIRL FROM KETCHIKAN

Dear Big Girl,

At your age, you may not have the ability yet to stand up to employers and persons of authority when something illegal or unethical is happening. Your boss is a BM (Boob Man / Bowel Movement-which ever fits best). It is totally illegal for him to constantly stare at your boobs, or make remarks about your body, or other related bad behavior. It is called Sexual Harassment. There are legal things you can do, but for a short summer job, I'll list the most effective options.

Tell your dad. Hopefully, he will go beat the guy up. Manager won't report him for assault because it will cost him his job and marriage when it goes to court and all the witnesses come out of the woodwork. Downside: Dad may make you quit.

Together with all the other female employees, stand in front of Manager, cross your arms, and stare at his crotch. When he tries to get by you, block him, smile, and say, (All together now) "Get the point?"
One anonymous phone call to his wife, or unsigned note on her car seat. She'll do the rest. If he's not married, mysterious note to him threatening to turn him in to the Department of Labor and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission -EEOC.

You may have to deal with this all your life. Dress to minimize or learn to enjoy them. [Pamela Anderson, Dolly Parton, and half the women in Hollywood].

DEAR CRABBY,

I am divorced, and for the past 7 years have been raising 4 kids on my own. My ex-husband owes me close to fifty thousand dollars, and times have been very hard here. Every day is a real struggle just to put food on the table.

The kids range in age from 14 through 21. They all still live with me. My oldest daughter and her 19 year-old brother work full time, but have never contributed to the household finances. I have asked them often (for $200.00 a month each), to no avail. I need help paying for all the food they eat, electricity, water, heat, garbage, laundry detergent, etc. (and roof over their heads). Our house operates in the red every month. Problem is, I don't know how to kick them out after loving them and raising them all these years. Please advise me, I'm broke.

POVERTY STRICKEN MAMA

DEAR PS MAMA,

I wish your kids were here. I'd like to slap some sense into them. Or your ex. Actually, sometimes I just feel like slapping somebody. So, once you've raised your children, you should live in poverty while they blow money on themselves? Call the State on your ex. Call his work too, and put an ad in the paper, asking him for money. May not help, but I'll enjoy the thought of him squirming a little.

Since you asked, I will tell you how to kick your kids out after loving them all these years. You hand them the paper with some rental ads circled. Then you give them a week to find a place, or the end of the day to pay you. Play alot of Englebert Humperdink, John Denver, and Barry Manilow real loud, and sing along (again- loudly). Let them catch you writing your phone number on a big FOR RENT sign. Finally, just say, "GET OUT!" Don't forget-- change the locks and move to a smaller place, so they cannot sneak back in while you're at work.
