(SitNews) Ketchikan, Alaska - Charles Prosper, chief executive of PeaceHealth, Northwest, announced today that Ed Freysinger, chief administrative officer for PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center, had informed him of his decision to leave PeaceHealth to be closer to family. Freysinger will be available to assist with the transition through Dec. 31, 2019.

In a statement that was sent to employees, providers and board members, Freysinger said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with PeaceHealth in Ketchikan, working with amazing caregivers, providers and community members, all of whom I will miss. The pull of my family, however, has led Debbie and I to recognize that the distance is simply too great at this point in our lives. We wish you all the best for continued excellent and compassionate care to this wonderful community.”

“We sincerely appreciate Ed’s service and commitment to PeaceHealth,” said Prosper. “Since his arrival in 2017, he has been actively engaged in the community, working to enhance PeaceHealth’s presence, service and quality of care. We wish him well in the future.”

Prosper said that an interim leader will be identified soon.
