Honesty & transparency needed

By James Llanos, Sr.

To Whom it may concern;

Some time ago the Recall Committee to recall Ketchikan Indian Community Council completed a recall petition and submitted it to KIC.  I was on that committee at that time.

KIC then stated that they had worked with the Bureau of Indian Affairs to come up with the fact that the Recall was not properly done and dismissed it from consideration.  We did not stop there.  We asked the BIA if KIC had ever contacted them on the matter, we asked formally using FOIA.

The BIA responded in September 2013 with an official letter indicating that nowhere in the BIA system had they consulted on the matter with any representative of KIC on the matter.   See below for the letter.

Elections are coming up in January 2014.  We need to elect people who can do honest transparent work.

Signed,

James Llanos Sr
