Protest
By Jerilyn Lester

Tuesday AM

I want to thank Ken Horn for organizing the gas price protest and for calling me to let me know about it. It went off without a hitch in spite of the cold. There were lots of car horns in support and several people stopped to talk to us about their thoughts and to say thanks. Well it worked!!!

While we were standing on the corner Safeway lowered their gas price on regular to $2.49 per gallon. That will save everyone in town money that they can put into heating oil. Now if we can get that price to come down maybe we can save Christmas. Chevron lowered their price yesterday [Friday] afternoon so I want to say thanks for that and again THANKS TO KEN FOR ORGANIZING THIS and thanks to the people that supported us by honking and letting everyone know that they agreed with us.

Power to the people of Ketchikan, this proves that when we band together we can accomplish much.
