I LOVED DAVID KIFFER'S ACCOUNT OF THE THANKSGIVING STORMS..THEY BROUGHT BACK VIVID MEMORIES FOR MYSELF,WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE NOW!!! BUT NOT BACK THEN.

MY DAD GENE HORNE WAS NEVER QUITE MECHANICALLY INCLINED,AND EVERY YEAR AT THANKSGIVING WHEN WE WOULD GET A FREEZING COLD FRONT, DO YOU THINK HE REMEMBERED TO WRAP THE PIPES SO OUR WATER WOULDN'T FREEZE? NO OF COURSE NOT!!! OR MAYBE HE DID BUT DIDN'T DO IT CORRECTLY. THERE WE ARE, 5 GIRLS AND NO RUNNING WATER AGAIN!!! THANK GOODNESS FOR A FRIEND THAT WORKED AT HUSKY PARCEL BROUGHT HIS HUGE WORK TRUCK WITH A LOAD OF WATER.

I STILL REMEMBER A SIGN MY MOM HAD IN THE BATHROOM," IN THESE ISLES OF SUN AND FUN WE DON'T FLUSH FOR #1". I THINK WE FOLLOWED THAT RULE EVERY TIME WE HAD A FEEZING COLD FRONT!!!!!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK DAVID I ENJOY YOUR STORIES,THEY DO BRING BACK LOTS OF GOOD TIMES I HAD GROWING UP THERE.
