Town Tree
By Jacquie Meck

Al, I'm not certain that no "town tree" is a "tradegy" ... but it's certainly sad.

I think two things caused this:

Fewer year 'round stores .... no active downtown association to spearhead the tree event.

The dock - where it has been in the past, is under construction.

If someone will remind me next October, I will put a "tree wanted" (someone usually has a tree on their property to donate) ad in The LOCAL Paper, and contact KPU to make arrangements to errect it.

In that vein, I would like to say that the street decorations look lovely ... and I've noticed that KPU has continued to add to them .... extending them further north and south.

Merry Christmas - The Best Hannukkah - A Good Kwanza ... to all (I refuse to be politically correct)
