As I drive around this holiday season I am so pleased to see that the lights campaign is working. I have noticed more beautiful light displays than ever before and it has really put me in the holiday spirit. It's obvious that people have put a lot of energy into their designs this year.

I know that it can be a hassle to climb around the house and yard when the rain is pelting you and the wind blowing you off a ladder. And I know that all those lights and the added electricity it takes to run them can be a big expense at an already expensive time of year. But, to all of you out there who have gone through all the trouble and expense, THANK YOU! My children are more excited than ever to drive around town on Christmas Eve and view the spectacular displays. You are giving a wonderful gift to the citizens of Ketchikan. Thank you for adding to the holiday spirit!
