City's Christmas Lights Winners Announced

Ketchikan, Alaska - On behalf of the sponsors of the Christmas lighting contest, Ed Zastrow announced the winners of the Christmas home lighting decorations on Wednesday. The home Christmas lights within the city were judged on Tuesday by judges who traveled the streets of Ketchikan. Winners will be awarded kilowatt hours which will be credited to their utility bills.

Zastrow said the Christmas lighting decorations outside the city limits were not judged on Tuesday and those winners will be announced at a later date.

The Christmas Lights contest is sponsored by AARP of Ketchikan, the Ketchikan Senior Center, Pioneers of Alaska and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1547.

 

Update 12/26/03: According to information provided by Ed Zastrow Friday afternoon, Christmas lights outside the city limits will be judged Saturday evening, December 27, 2003.
