Kelly Tshibaka has visited Ketchikan three times since last year’s Blueberry Festival. We have spoken about her family, her education, her work history, and her values. She was raised by her father, a union electrician, and her mother, who worked on the North Slope oil fields. An American middle-class family--she identifies with those people. She deeply feels that Washington DC believes that it is the federal government’s right to keep Alaska as a welfare state--doling out money to keep us subservient, but never giving Alaskans their promised land and resources to make us an independent people. We are to be thankful for their occasional handouts at election time.

Kelly has told us about the Biden Administration’s 30 X 30 plan - look it up. The goal is to lock up 30% of America’s land mass by 2030 for preservation that will never again have a human footprint. I wish U.S. Senator Murkowski felt that Alaskans should be aware of this proposed action. Wyoming and Montana have heard and are up in arms. Unlike unaware Alaskans, they can see the handwriting on the wall - which states are most likely to be cordoned off? I think we can guess.

Kelly decided to run for the Senate when Lisa voted for Deb Haaland as Sec of the Interior. Ms. Haaland had been on record as being anti-mining, drilling, and logging; Lisa was on the news saying that she knew she ‘shouldn’t vote for her - she’d been bitten in the rear end before’---, but she was going ahead and voting yes. Who was ‘bitten’ by that vote?

A Wall St Journal responder said the Biden Administration was playing chess and the Alaskan delegation was playing checkers. Can we continue to sit and watch this happen? We have no oil production and the US is running out of oil reserves. We are paying $7.29 for 30 ounces of mayonnaise, $8.49 for a small box of cereal, and the Alaskans in the northern villages are saying they are going to be paying $13-17 per gallon for heating fuel this winter. Every movement of every product on the supply chain is affected by an increase in the cost of fuel. Biden is pushing for more ethanol in our gas - which is harder on engines, gets fewer miles to the gallon, and encourages farmers to plant corn and soy for fuel; which means less feed available for pigs, chickens, and cows which drives up the price of food.

Senator Murkowski does not seem fired up about these issues. Kelly Tshibaka is fit to be tied and wants to fight the good fight for our state and her children’s future. While Lisa was raised by a banker, U.S. Senator, and Governor, I imagine she has never wondered where her next meal was coming from -- Kelly came from the middle class and understands our struggles.

Please vote for change and send Kelly to Washington to fight for us.
