Open Letter to deceitful Republicans: Until next time

By Tuckerman Babcock

November 10, 2016
Thursday PM

Dear Reps. Gabrielle LeDoux, Louise Stutes, and Paul Seaton,

First, congratulations on your re-election. We are sorry you have chosen to part ways.

You won your elections running as Republicans in your respective Districts. That was an illusion, a false picture you presented to the voters of your districts.

Because of your recent actions abandoning your team and joining with the House Democrats, we invite you to drop the pretense that you are Republican and leave the Republican Party.

In addition, Rep. Stutes we ask that you do the honorable thing and return the $1,000 in campaign funds donated by the Alaska Republican Party, which you accepted under false pretense.

You can expect that I, as chairman, will recommend to the State Central Committee that the Alaska Republican Party begin to actively recruit and support a transparent, honest member of the Republican team for the next election cycle.

We are disappointed that you pretended to be something you are not to your constituents as you sought their votes. We apologize to your constituents for any role we played in advancing that deception.

At the very least, you failed to be honest with the voters that you were already maneuvering with Democrats and preparing to abandon your fellow Republicans in order to secure personal positions of power in the State House.

After you won your primaries, all three of you received unwavering support from me as Chairman, because you were the Republican candidate. We are deeply offended and astonished that you have stabbed your supporters in the back. There was no honesty in your message to your constituents. You simply put your own personal desire for power ahead of your commitment to Alaskans as being part of a governing team. You have done this despite the fact that Alaskans elected a majority of Republicans to the State House.

Until we meet in the next election,

Sincerely,

Tuckerman Babcock
Chairman
Alaska Republican Party
Kenai Peninsula
