Music Around the World

The Saturday night performance of the Ketchikan Community Concert Band was no exception to what one would anticipate - wonderful! awesome! full of grand music and local musicians.

It is always a treat to attend a performance by this group, directed by Roy McPherson.

But did you see that clarinet section? Putting their instruments away before the piece was even over - then, right in front of the Director (and audience), got up and walked off stage!

Some instrumentalists had a part in the percussion section for one number.

And have you heard of the Scattered Sunshine Trombone Choir? Or have you ever heard this group? Not quite 76 trombones, but they sure are good and 'classy'.
Solos during several pieces.

2 members were unable to be a part of the performance, as they are high school players who were chosen to participate in Anchorage with the State Honor Band - wonderful that our young people are engaged in good music.

Thank you to the KCCB for another fine live performance of local talented musicians.
PS check out the picture on the front page of Mary Kurth - french horn player, Schoenbar Music Instructor - our musicians have various talents, skills and interests.
