Dear Editor,

Dan Ortiz represents a much needed independent voice for Southern Southeast Alaska. In a time of deeply divided partisan politics, Dan is a breath of fresh air. Dan can be counted on to do what s best for our community and for Alaska. He is a strong supporter of the maritime industry, which many consider to be the lifeblood of our community. This includes fisheries, the Alaska Marine Highway System and the shipyard, as well as the cruise and towboat industries.

I know Dan as a man of honesty and integrity, who can be counted on to listen carefully and consider all sides of an issue before coming to a decision. Over the years I have appreciated his leadership ability, both as a teacher and coach and I know that he would put that talent to good use as our State Representative. Dan's the man, vote for Dan!

Sincerely,

Diana Chaudhary
