(SitNews) Ketchikan, Alaska - It's time to get in the holiday spirit this weekend and enjoy a fabulous shopping experience at the Art Council's annual Winter Arts Faire. Newly added this year is one more event, a gala opening reception on Friday at the Ted Ferry Civic Center and Cape Fox Lodge.

The annual Winter Arts Faire presents an exclusive shopping experience for the whole family. Over 80 local artisans will participate in the Faire and will be offering new and unique creations - everything from wreaths to pottery, from jewelry to photography, from tie-dye to metalwork, and from quilted treasures to vintage replica toys.

The reception, held November 23rd from 5:00 - 7:30 pm, will be a no-host bar with appetizers and live music to make this an evening to dress up for. There will be a $5.00 admission fee and the proceeds will be used to support the Arts Council. Admission to the reception is free for Arts Council members.

The Winter Arts Faire holiday fun will continue over the weekend. On Saturday, Nov. 24th from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and on Sunday, November 25th, from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. Admission will be free on Saturday and Sunday. Booths will at the Ted Ferry Civic Center and Cape Fox Lodge (Banquet Room).
