Annual Tree Lighting Ceremonies Announced

Ketchikan, Alaska - The Greater Ketchikan Chamber of Commerce has announced that on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at 4:00 P.M. The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremonies will take place on the docks immediately adjacent to the Ketchikan Visitors Bureau. Ketchikan City Mayor Lew Williams III, Greater Ketchikan Gateway Borough Mayor David Kiffer and Santa Claus will be on hand to give the command along with all attending community members for the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree.

Immediately following the lighting of the tree guest are invited to join Santa as he leads the march to the covered pavilion at berth 3. There attending guest will be treated to Christmas Carols sung by comprised body of students thorough the school district. Hot cocoa, and cookies will be served by volunteers and stockings will be distributed by Santa to the first 150 children.

The Greater Ketchikan Chamber of Commerce expressed special thanks to:  Judy Berg (for the donation of this year’s tree) Alaska Tree Experts, Pool Engineering, Alaska Marine Lines, Wal-Mart,  The Ketchikan Visitors Bureau, Ketchikan Gateway Borough, The City of Ketchikan, Ketchikan Fire Department, The Ketchikan Police Department, Ketchikan Ports & Harbors, KPU Electric Division Manager and Crew. CHARR, The Downtown Steering Committee, Santa Claus and all involved.
