NO MORE PAIN” IS CURRENT ART EXHIBIT AT THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Ketchikan, Alaska - "No More Pain" is the name of the current exhibition of art at the Presbyterian Church, now through January 30.

The exhibit features both poetry and photography. The poems were written by students at the Ketchikan Regional Youth Facility, where Pastor George Pasley volunteers. The photographs were taken by young Ketchikan artists being mentored by church member Mary Ida Henrikson. The photographers were inspired by the poetry, so each photograph in the exhibit is matched with a poem.

Pastor Pasley said the church is looking for a second venue to display the exhibit after it closes at the church. “We are really excited by the work of these young people,” he said. “Both the words and the photographs are vivid insights into the human psyche.”

The exhibit can be seen on Sunday mornings, and during public events at the church. It may also be viewed by appointment. Please call 225-3619

The Presbyterian Church is located at 2711 Second Avenue.
