Holidays for the not so Fortunate
By Albert K. White

We are in a time of financial uncertainty, a recession no one wants to admit, thousands of layoffs, home forecloses, and high energy prices. Most have had to find a way to strap down to make up for losses, most aren't as fortunate due to layoffs or lack of employment.

This Holiday season will be harder for many in our nation; whether it be the cross-country trip your family can't afford this year, to determining if you have enough to have holiday dinner. This effect will be felt by many fellow Americans.

In a time of instability for most I call on those a little more comfortable than others, I ask you find it in your heart to give a little more this season, make a difference in a strangers life. Whether it be a donation of time to help the increased need of those less fortunate, to food drive donations helping the family that can't afford a holiday meal, to donating to the gift tree bringing a smile to a kid's face who otherwise would not see what most take for granted.

Let's not forget the holidays for the not so fortunate and pitch-in in a time of need. Recalculate this message through conversation and together let's meet the need of those less fortunate in our nation.
