Thanks for finding my laptop
By Kevin Gadsey

Thursday AM

Some days I still question my move to Ketchikan - when I miss going to Wal-mart at 2 AM or having a good coffeehouse that stays open to midnight. I've never lived in a town this small before. Then there are days when I really enjoy the family-like atmosphere in Ketchikan.

Today was one of the latter days. My laptop fell off my wheelchair tonight (Nov 7) across from the Federal Building and I didn't realize it till 30 minutes later. As I raced back, I saw a younger man walking around with it trying to find its owner. He wouldn't take a reward. I asked his name and thanked him profusely. I'd rather have lost my wallet with $2000 than my laptop.

If anyone knows "Gary", please tell him to drop by the SAIL office at the corner of Dock and Bawden. I'd love to buy him a coffee and cinnamon roll at Refiner's Roast or Polar Treats.

And I'll remember what happened tonight each time I miss shopping at Wal-mart at 2 AM. :c) No matter what, Ketchikan is my home now...
