Airport Parking Lot

I recently saw in an article in the Ketchikan Daily news that the borough is planning or trying to make the long term parking lot a permit parking lot. This is going to cause more problems than I think that they anticipate. It will just move the cars that are abusing the long term lot to the short term lot, causing the ones of us that use that lot for the purpose that it was intended for to not be able to park. There are a lot of other ways that it can be handled I think other than costing us more money.

I feel that they should take a portion of the lot and mark it for employees only, that way there would be no need for them to have to park in either the gas station or the short term lot as they do now. Also put the ticket booth on this side to sell tickets for the ferry and give stickers for the lots so that they can be patrolled and monitored by the tow companies that offer that service. That would also stop people from riding the ferry for free just as some do by not getting off on the other side.

The way I see it we are being over charged for the ferry anyway we have to pay for a round trip knowing that we can't use the return if we are getting on the plane to go anywhere so I feel we are already paying for parking.
