Excellent Questions!
By Robert D. Warner

Congratulations to Peg Travis for the excellent questions she asks about Ketchikan's Bridge to Nowhere.  These questions need to be sent to the Ketchikan Gateway Borough Assembly, the Ketchikan City Council, and that noisy special interest group pushing for bridge construction on the public's dime.  We need these questions clearly and accurately answered now and certainly before this fight goes to the State Legislature.

Let's not expect the State of Alaska to cover the cost of this bridge or another wasteful scheme here in Ketchikan.  While this is a good year for oil revenues,  we must be very prudent in our state spending.  We might face another "rainy day" sooner rather than later.  Some of us remember that it was not that long ago that we were being threatened with a dreaded state income tax.
