(SitNews) - Governor Mike Dunleavy announced last week that Kristian Pickrell was appointed to the Ketchikan District Court.

Pickrell has been an Alaska resident for 24½ years and has practiced law for 17 years.

He graduated from Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2004 and is currently an assistant district attorney in Ketchikan.

The Alaska Judicial Council met with applicants on September 1 and announced that Pickrell and one other applicant were nominated to fill the judicial vacancy.

The Governor selected Kristian Pickrell from the list of nominations forwarded to him by the Judicial Council.
