Vote for Dan Ortiz

By Mike Cruise

I recently read that over 50% of Alaska voters are NOT registered with a political party. They are either “non-affiliated or undeclared”. It seems that almost 40% of registered voters nationwide are of the same mind.

It is not hard to understand why. Both the Republicans and Democrats are shunned by ever growing numbers of voters. And now, more than ever… they deserve it.

The Republicans had a nominating process that was won fair and square by Donald Trump. Typical of rich, spoiled brats everywhere- most Republicans big-wigs (having lost) chose to take their ball and run home.

The Democrats (not to be outdone) had a nominating process that guaranteed that only Hillary Clinton would (or could) win. Not good news for Bernie Sanders and his (disenfranchised) supporters.

And now Party Politics comes to our local House District race. An old political hack resurfaces as a PAC seeking to influence the election with slash and burn, baseless accusations.

Negative campaigning, the kind that most agree has no business in our elections.

After the fact (but with a choreographed precision) the local Party denounced and condemned such activity……. As if they didn’t know (wink. wink) and broadly condemn (nod, nod) such old-hat Political Party tricks.

Dan Ortiz is a independent Representative who is only accountable to you and I. He has my vote because you and I can trust him to make decisions in the best interests of our district.

No political party skullduggery, smoke and mirrors, or slight of hand…… Just good old fashion hard work.
