I have known Bill Walker for close to five years, and the more I get to know him the more convinced I am that when he becomes Governor it will be the best thing that has happened to our state since the oil pipeline went into service.

Born in Fairbanks, raised in Delta and Valdez, Bill learned at an early age the value of hard work. As a young teenager he worked for his Dads construction company helping to re-build Valdez after the earthquake, and later hammered lots of nails while owning and operating his own construction company. Bill is a strong supporter of the responsible development of our natural resources, including timber, fishing, mining, and hydroelectric power.

To make a long story short, in 1977, when Sean Parnell was only 15 years old, Bill was already working for the development of an all Alaskan Gas Line and has never wavered from that vision. Bills commitment for our future is simple; the oil and gas in the ground belong to the residents of Alaska, and there is no reason why we shouldn’t be able to get cheap, low cost energy to heat our homes and fuel our boats and vehicles. Imagine what a huge boost that alone would be to our economy. But that’s not all. For many years Bill has served as the general council to the Alaska Gas Line Port Authority. In that position he has met and personally knows many key players both here and abroad in what has become a huge un-taped market for liquefied natural gas. This product sells on the Asian market at four times what it sells for domestically. With Alaska’s enormous gas reserves there are many $Billions of dollars to be made for our state, far into the future. Governor Parnell has ignored this huge possibility, and has continued until recently to dump our states resources into the failed Trans-Canada gas line which so far has cost the state over $260 million dollars. Just recently Parnell decided that Bill Walkers idea was his best political move and started plans for an in-state gas line, but it is undersized and poorly planned for the huge market that is waiting to be taped.

In summary, after hearing Parnell’s recent distortions and fabrications about Bill Walker it is clear to me that he is just another ‘in over his head’ failed politician trying to hang onto power, while Bill Walker is the man in the trenches with the know how to make our state the envy of the United States. I agree with Wally Hickel and Jay Hammond, I’m voting for Alaska First, I’m excited to be voting for Bill Walker and Byron Mallot. It’s Time Alaska!
