Begich protects Social Security and Medicare

Dear Editor,

I just can't get over Dan Sullivan and his Outside groups accusing Mark Begich of cutting Medicare. Do we know the same Mark Begich?

Because the one I know has been a champion in the Senate for protecting both Medicare and Social Security. He opposes any privatization of either program and has introduced a remarkable plan for Social Security that will strengthen and actually expand benefits. It s simple really: take away the income cap so we all pay our fair share and change the CPI so the benefits reflect the actual cost of living. Plus, he closed that awful doughnut hole in Medicare that shot out-of-pocket expenses through the roof for certain prescription drugs. So you can see my confusion.

Oh and is that the same Dan Sullivan making those attacks who wants to raise the age people can receive Social Security benefits? And introduce means testing? And has supported cuts to programs like Medicare that would provide a lifeline to millions of seniors? Dan Sullivan does not care about seniors no matter how hard he tries to pretend otherwise.
