Replace The IRS With A National Sales Tax By Glen E Terrell October 07, 2013 Every American citizen; male, female and transgender; religious and not; gay and straight; democrat, republican, libertarian and independent; every skin color; should be telephoning, emailing, snail-mailing and sitting in the office of their congressional representatives and senators' offices demanding they support the FairTax. The FairTax is a nonpartisan, totally American national sales tax plan. When adopted it will replace the IRS and the entire income tax code. It taxes consumption not income. No more federal deductions from your paycheck. No tax on income regardless of source. The underground economy, now at $2 trillion/year, which hasn't been taxed in 100 years, will be taxed. Tourists, illegal immigrants, everyone living within our borders will pay the sales tax. You will probably pay less tax because there will be millions more tax payers. American businesses will no longer collect taxes! The shelf (and export!) price of American produced products will decrease. The economy will boom; millions of new jobs will be created.
