RE: Cruise Line Customer Service
By Tom LeCompte

October 07, 2011

Regarding Mr Bailly's letter about the operations on the port. I have worked on the docks and also for the KVB over the last 15 years. I am not aware of any off-the-ship businesses owned by any cruise line. Could you perhaps be more specific as to who own what? I think you are mis-informed.

The space Ms Gates asks for is a place where cruise ship tour sales staff can settle up their business with the local tour vendors at the end of the day. The cruise staff person and the shore side vendor compare the head count and total up how much the ship owes the local vendor. On rainy days they often come in to the KVB and use our Direct line phone counter, but that can interfere with people wanting to make a direct line call. So having a spot to work together would benefit all the companies who sell tours to the ships.

Waiting for your information,
