Term Limits/Age Limits

For too long there has been politicians dying while still serving in office, whether i'ts Local, State or Federal, it's getting ridiculous that our Senators, Reps, etc dying in office when they ought to have stepped down twenty years ago and let the younger generation take over and pick up where they left off. Why stay in office for 30 or 40 years when they could be staying home and enjoy being home with family and friends, spending time with grandkids and let the younger generation take over what needs to be done in Washington.

There comes a time when the older politicians need to sit back and relax, enjoy the rest of their life and what's in store for them. A few years ago term limits was placed on the ballot but voters didn't think it would be a problem, it IS a problem today. When an older politician dies while in office it affects the whole system when the rest are trying to deal with problems of this country. It takes time to look for a replacement when important issues need to be dealt with. Nothing against older politicians but it needs to be changed.

There are age limits as to when a person can run for office, well there ought to be an age limit as to when a Senator, Rep, etc should retire from politics and step down. Something like 65 years of age and it's time to 'gracefully' bow out and let the younger generation take over, sooner or later the younger politicians will have to take over anyway. How else can the younger politicians get the experience they need. How can they get the experience when no one gives them a chance? When the older ones were younger, voters gave them a chance they need now it's time to step down and make way for the youger generation, give them the same chance that was given to the older politicians 30/40 years ago.

My hat's off to the older politians serving this country for decades but it's time to move on with their life and enjoy other things while they can.

Sincerely,
