Ridiculous policies
By Holly Finley

Oh Lordy don't get me started on how ridiculous KIC's policies are, perhaps they should take some notes from the Native hospital in Anchorage where I've had the pleasure of being taken care of completely by the doctors and staff.

My youngest son wasn't even enrolled there when he had to have emergency services, the woman told me as long as I enrolled him when the weekend was over there wouldn't be any issues. He didn't even have his Indian blood card but because I did and my other boys did that was enough for them.

I recently had a baby and KIC won't cover my son's expenses because he is listed as non native. Hmmm as far as I know the fact that his father is native and a KIC member and so am I, wouldn't that mean my son is native? Duh.

This is not the first issue with KIC, just the latest. They need to get their business together.
