I just want to express my appreciation to all the hard working people that help to keep our city clean - often despite the best efforts of some to leave a mess without thought for others. Keeping Ketchikan clean, whether working on a garbage truck, cleaning the streets and sidewalks or even picking litter from your yard is often not an easy job and I am sure it is not always pleasant. Yet it always seems to be done in good humor.

I also want to say a special thanks to all those that work on garbage trucks and at the dump. I can't count the number of times I have seen the truck drivers, both city and borough, stop or pull over to let traffic pass; or the number of times someone at the dump has helped when I have had a large load to empty from my car.

Thank you!
