Ketchikan ski areas?

I understand that years ago there were a couple of ski areas
on our island - one at Lake Harriet Hunt, and one they called
Ski Corner, just before the last turnoff to Harriet Hunt. I
sure wish an interested group could cooperate and find a way
to establish some cross country ski areas up there.
It's a shame we've forgotten
how to ski and now almost exclusively drive around on noisy snow
machines in the winter. Anyone have an interest?
