Now a Zero Tolerance Policy
By Vicki Harsha

Tuesday

On Monday, the 16th of October, I attended a parent meeting for wrestlers and their parents.

Lynn Wadley, our new Athletic Director made sure to inform the kids at the meeting that the School Board had just voted and passed a new policy regarding drug/alcohol/tobacco use: There is now a ZERO TOLERANCE, one strike and you are out policy.

This change was fairly recent, and I was unaware of it until tonight.

To our School Board members, both new and old, I commend you on this decision. It is decisive, leaves no room for "interpretation" and sends a strong message to the whole student body of both schools, Kayhi and Schoenbar.

I especially would like to acknowledge the school board member or members who brought this very important issue to the table and made sure it was handled quickly, within the first 5-6 weeks of school.

Again, thank you for a job well done!
