Ketchikan, Alaska - Hybrid wolves
are canines of 'recent' wolf heritage and more recent wolf &
dog crosses are referred to as 'wolfdogs'.
As Canis lupus (wolf) and Canis lupus familiaris (dog) are the
same species, "hybrid" is considered an inaccurate
outdated term, according to The Woff Dunn online source for information
on wolfdogs.
This strikingly beautiful and
gentle creature was photographed while visiting Ketchikan with
its owner - a professional breeder/trainer.
