It is our duty as a people...

As Native Americans, Indians, Indigenous people, or first peoples we are people who have the right to protect our traditions and culture. As a people that wish to protect our nationhood and traditions we may be seen as problematic. Perhaps other people feel that we are impeding progress. Others may feel that we are not capable of making responsible choices. Others may feel that our traditions best be left in our past. All feelings considered the bottom line is that we have a right to protect our traditions and our existence as a people. It is our duty as a people, not just native people to protect the land and the gifts that it provides. It would be a tragedy for all generations of all people for the needless harvesting of hunting and gathering lands. I am quite certain that all types of people hunt and gather on Gravina.
