Local arrested for selling meth within 500 feet of schools

(SitNews) Ketchikan, Alaska - Tuesday morning shortly before noon, a Ketchikan resident was arrested in the area of Schoenbar Middle School, Tongass School of Arts & Sciences and the Ketchikan Charter School for allegedly selling meth within 500 feet of the schools.

The Alaska Bureau of Investigation's Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs (SEACAD) task force and K-9 Lutri, with the assistance of the United States Coast Guard Investigative Service, served a search warrant on an apartment located in the Alaska Housing complex in Ketchikan known as Schonebar Park.

Brooke Putman, age 36 of Ketchikan, was arrested for two counts of Misconduct Involving a Control led Substance in the Third Degree for selling methamphetamine within 500 feet of the surrounding schools on Schonebar Road, and for Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor for allowing minors inside the residence to openly
smoke marijuana.

Putman was remanded at the Ketchikan Correctional Center without bail pending arraignment on Wednesday, 09/24/14.
