HOPE initiated the awards in 2009 to honor women of Prince of Wales Island for their commitment and passion in making POW communities healthier and safer. Each recipient is nominated by a member of their community, with several island communities represented each year.

HOPE’s mission is to bring people together to build a safe island community through prevention, safety, support and advocacy for persons who have experienced interpersonal violence. This awards banquet is an excellent way to recognize those that do so much to promote the organization’s mission.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with a no-host bar. The evening will also include silent and live art auctions throughout the program. The first live auction begins at 6:30 followed by halibut and prime rib dinner. Ticket price is $40.

Tickets for the event are available at the POW Chamber of Commerce in Klawock, Strictly Local Selections in Craig, and the HOPE office, as well as in Craig.
