Andrew Washburn new Senior Curator of Collections for the Ketchikan Museums

(SitNews) Ketchikan, Alaska - Andrew Washburn has joined the Ketchikan Museums staff as  Senior Curator of Collections.  

Until recently, he was Historical Projects Manager at the Center for Wooden Boats, in Seattle. 

Commenting on the appointment, Museum director Michael Naab said, "We're delighted that Andrew has joined the Museum staff.  He's a great fit for Ketchikan, and for the Museums."

Washburn received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Kenyon College, and his Master of Arts in Museum Studies from San Francisco State University.  

His diverse museum experience includes work at Yellowstone National Park, the San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park, and the Museum of Flight in Seattle.  

Washburn brings many skills to Ketchikan, including exhibit development, collections preservation, research, program development and more.
