Sarah's Bridges to America
By Edward Brown

Without spending our hard earned dollars, Sarah Palin has bridged us again to a nation which for over 150 years has treated our state like their possession.

Although a bridge to Gravina would be nice, Sarah has the opportunity to help us overcome red headed stepchildren status. She can become our state's bridge to respectability with the lower 48 states.

Sarah will introduce Alaskans as part of her family to the rest of the nation. And her current position reminds me of when I first heard Wally Hickel being named to then President Nixon's cabinet. That was back in the 70's. Wally was then named Secretary of the Interior. Wally was in a position to be instrumental in helping us build our state's oil pipeline. Thanks to Walter J. Hickel our nation had access to our state's oil.

Sarah's AGIA legislation was a starter for the gas line to America through the land bridge of our friends in Canada. She showed us that we can be good neighbors to those who are even closer to us than the lower 48. It may be 10 years out but think of the future possibilities of where Sarah could be in 10 years. Will she be in a position to help us then too?

The nation has got a lot of mileage out of our Gravina island bridge. But the bridge to our nation that Sarah is building could be worth more than that so called bridge to nowhere . Just by being a VP candidate Sarah can help our state to be taken more seriously.

Sarah's common touch will also bridge the rest of America with our nation's capital. DC would do well to pay attention to those of us in our nation's smaller states and communities.

Think of Sarah as a bridge builder when you step into the voting booth in November. When she is our nation's Vice President our state's recognition will rise even more. Then think of the future possibilities of our state as Sarah Palin builds even more bridges by then. Your vote counts after it is cast.
