No aerial spraying of pesticides on Long Island

Haw'aa, Carrie James for your awesome letter! We have been voicing our objections since Klukwan decided Long Island needed to be sprayed. All to no avail. Why won't anyone listen? Is it because we are "just Indians" living here? We do know it is for the almighty dollar and they refuse to quit at the risk of all Haida people living in and around Hydaburg. Are we their guinnea pigs? Again it comes back to the question "Is it because we are JUST Indians?"

I, too would love to hear the candidates' stand on the aerial spraying of pesticides on Long Island. The entire island has been our subsistance grounds since our ancestors lived there. There is a natural spring on the island that will be poisoned and I'm sure Klukwan knows about that as well. I know it's not all of the shareholders of their corporation that want the spraying because they too realize what a huge mistake it would be. To sever relationships that existed for hundreds of years because Klukwan insists on spraying is very disturbing.

I too would like to hear Rep. Thomas' stand on the spraying. Rep. Thomas you can email me anytime and tell me what your stand is. This also goes for Mr. Aaron Isaacs. My email address is fcnatkong@hotmail.com and my phone number is 907-285-3714 after 4:00 p.m. Convince me to vote for you.

Haw'aa to everyone for writing letters and taking a stand against the spraying on Long Island.
