Power Outage Scheduled This Weekend

Ketchikan, Alaska - The University of Alaska Southeast Ketchikan Campus has scheduled a power outage for the main campus, located at 2600 Seventh Avenue beginning Saturday, September 10.  The outage will allow Wolverine Construction to install new electrical connections between the Paul and Ziegler Buildings as part of the campus renovation project.
 
The outage is scheduled to last one day and be restored on Sunday, September 11. The outage does not affect the UAS Ketchikan Technical Center, located at 600 Stedman, with the exception of internal phone extension system and some computer access. The Computer Lab, located at the Technical Center, will be open for student use on Saturday, September 10.
 
Computer servers, including the campus website, www.ketch.alaska.edu, as well as all phone lines will be down during the power outage.
 
Students will be able access online classes through UAS Online as well as www.uas.alaska.edu.  Classes should not be disrupted on Monday, September 12.
 
Announcements will be made on Monday morning if the outage is extended for any reason.
