Please Vote "Yes" on Borough Proposition #1
By Dave Lieben

I'd like to encourage everyone to support Borough Proposition #1 on October 4. These bonds will provide for several long-overdue capital improvement projects within the School District to go forward. The state agreed to provide 70% of the funding in the last legislative session, and the borough's portion has already been collected, much of it from tourists, through the half-cent sales tax increase.

The projects that will be funded include: improved fire alarm systems for Kayhi, Pt. Higgins, and Revilla; fire doors and HVAC controls for Pt. Higgins; an elevator upgrade and a new electrical panel for the charter schools; a roof system replacement for the humanities area of Kayhi; a new security system as well as furniture, fixtures, and equipment for Schoenbar; and new fall protection surfaces for the playground areas of all the elementary schools.

Thank you for your support!
