In response to June 24, 2005 Sitnews story titled 'Lengthy Drug Trafficking Investigation Results in Federal Indictment' Source:Ketchikan Police Department -- First, I want to thank Sitnews for my opportunity to respond to this story.

I am one of the defendants charged in the Federal Indictment, I have lived in Ketchikan for many years, raised my children here, enjoyed making this our home. I would like to make very clear your publication states that all defendants were arrested and flown to Juneau, which is not true. Three of us were flown to and are currently being held at Lemon Creek Correctional Center in Juneau. [One] was not taken into custody and flown anywhere with us, I cannot tell you the whereabouts of [one] except I believe he is held in an Oregon prison. I have to defend myself in a court of law, not on Sitnews or through Ketchikan Daily news, I can only hope in the future if you plan on covering local stories, you try to get the facts straight - no matter what, we are human and deserve the respect of 'Innocent Until Proven Guilty' right? The least we should get is an honest accounting in the public eye.

Thank you,
